The Liberty Public Market was a project we were all waiting for, and the wait was worth it! This artisan market concept promised to bring together some of the best local food and goods to town. As they confirmed last year, their tenant slotting included a sit-down restaurant, wine bar and beer tasting room among other baked goods and food options like STUFFED!
This was exciting news. The creators of the gourmet cheese stuffed burger concept STUFFED! were transitioning from a food truck to their first physical storefront. The process has been a success!
Owner Alex Gould, who moved to San Diego after managing restaurants in Philadelphia for the STARR Restaurant Organization, also used to run the food trucks parked at Green Flash Brewing Company’s locations in Mira Mesa and Poway. Now, with a 280-square-foot food stall for STUFFED! he is one of a handful of hot food vendors in the Liberty Station market.
A shout out to STUFFED! and his owner, Alex Gould, was made by Candice Woo, founding editor at Eater, San Diego. In Candice’s words “Specializing in elevated comfort food, with variations on organic, grass-fed beef burgers stuffed with cheese named POW!, BANG! and BOOM!, the burger eatery will expand its menu here to include more burgers and sandwiches, plus desserts and a canned beer program”.
